Managing player registrations and team allocations is a difficult task. Kids primarily play sport to have fun with their friends and develop their skills. Getting balance between not enough players, too many (requiring rostering off), and an overly competitive approach at younger aged teams is never easy or straight forward and often parent pressures can sway decisions. Setting a selection criteria policy prior to the season can help alleviate this pressure and make the experience a lot less stressful for everyone.
